I have some questions about the x-force:
1-why looks the aliens so same?
2-why looks some weapons so same? For example the tscharkow and the sniper.
3-what is the end of the game?
4-when comes out the next version of the game?

1. Because there is only 1(x8) pictures of an alien
2. This depends on the gameset. There are some gamesets using more pictures of weapons and ammunition
3. In the default gameset - no real end. I think there is a message in the latest version
4. It's done when it's done. As this is a 100% freetime project we work when we can and want

programers are always appreciated.

wrong, there has been an end sequence added in the latest version of the default gameset.
But the other gamesets are incomplete as far as I know and don't have an end.

And yes, getting more programmers will speed up development ;-)

Question:

is there a way to create game art to help you? If so, what are the requirements?

You could make your own gameset with script-popoups that help the player, or you could coustomize the help that is displayed in the main menu...

There are several kinds of 'art' which could improve the game, but I don't know who is responsible for which part.
So perhaps you should contact DirkF or wait until he anwers to your post. What comes to my mind first are three different arear where one could help with game art:

First of all, what is always needed are graphics for the ground combat (and maps made out of these graphics).

The second part would be graphics for equipment as it is displayed in the equipment or research part of the game.

And what could also help are sounds (effects and music).

But for all this it is important that you do it on your own, because we have to be careful about copyrights and all that stuff, which is especially a problem with sound (unless you record them by your own).

We need a lot of additional grafics for the game, but there's also a reason why I haven't asked for them yet.

The 0.920 will change the tilesets and map data of the ground combat. To create new tiles before those formats have been defined and implemented might be a waste of time (we will try to convert the existing tilesets, but those have too much problems to guarantee that we will succeed in the conversion).

At the moment only art for icons (32x32 pixel), UFOpädia pictures (150x150 pixel) and base structures (multiples of 64 pixels, up to 256x256 for a 4x4 structure) can be created without risking a wasted work. And even in those cases I suggest to make the pictures in a larger scale for possible later resizing into other formats.

Anyone who wants to contribute pictures can do so - simply send an example of your work to gamesetcreators who might be interested (including me if you want to help with the galactic war gameset) or post a link to them in this forum.

Sound Effects:

1.) Get a panel of thin sheet-metal. Wobble it, hit it, etc. The noises are really funky.

2.) Plug an electric guitar into an amp. Unplug the guitar from the amp, when the power is still on. You have a laz0rgun!!

0.911 is the newest version, and even 0.911 is at closed-beta-state ;-)
I don't think 0.920 will be released within the next few months but that depends on many factors...

That's the only one there right now.
More gamesets are available in the forum but their creators decided not to accept the offer of using the online updater for various reasons (mostly because they're creating new versions faster than the updater could be corrected).
